Yukon, The cutest dog EVER!

by Shelia

Yes, I am the cutest dog EVER!

Yes, I am the cutest dog EVER!

I got Yukon, an Akita, when he was 7 weeks old. He was the stinkyest dog and so dirty. My friend held him in her lap the whole way home (about 100 miles) and she just kept gagging. She said, "I usually love puppy breath, but he just has poopy breath!" But how could you not fall in love with him, just look at that face!!

Yukon is now 3 years old, and just a happy, goofy dog. He is such a character. I just laugh at him all the time because of his antics and the expression on his face & the cock of his head when you talk to him. I don't know what I would do without him.

A couple days ago he had a "Grand Mal Seizure". It was just awful. It only lasted about 10 minutes, but it seemed to last forever. He had a mild one last year, too. When I thought about it, both the seizures he's had happened shortly after he got his vaccinations. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but after reading the article in Dog Fancy about vaccinations, I'm starting to wonder. Plus, Akita's were listed as one of the breeds more prone to having difficulty with vaccinations. I will definately be asking more questions next time he gets vaccinated, and if it happens again, I don't think I will get him vaccinated anymore.

But on a lighter note, Yukon really is quite the charmer. Everyone coments on how beautiful he is. He is quite intimidating, because of his size, but in all actuality, he'd probably lick someone to death.
