My 11 year old Shih-Tzu received all boosters, including the 3 year Rabies, on Jan 9th, 2012. February 28th, 2012 he is dead from liver failure. I syringe fed him for 10 days Isomil, baby rice cereal, milk thistle and his Flagyl. He took the feedings, but refused all food on his own. He was still drinking plenty of water, but would walk around his food bowl like it was going to jump up and bite him. I cooked chicken, steak, rice and lamb - all the things he loved, including his snacks. He would take nothing by mouth. There was nothing wrong with the teeth. The vet had checked him when she gave his shots. He was shaking like he was having focal seizures. He had one good one. The rest were small. I called the vet. She wanted to put him on IV's - hundreds of dollars I didn't have. His eye (L) was also so inflamed the vet had given me Tobrmycin. It didn't help at all. I couldn't stand to see him suffer any longer. I took him to the shelter and put him down Monday. There is a great big hole in my heart. I know they don't live forever, but you're trying to do what the law says you have to do and you kill him. When are they going to understand older little dogs can't take the same dose for Rabies as a great Dane? He died in liver failure from the 3 year vaccination, and no one will ever convince me differently.

Respectfully, Connie
